2017-18 Men's Hockey Season Preview

2017-18 Men's Hockey Season Preview

The Tigers are coming off a solid recruiting season. With eight new faces in the lineup this year, the Tigers will look to improve their offensive output and continue to be one of the league’s best defensive teams.

Between the pipes the Tigers will be led by fourth-year goaltender Corbin Boes, who attended the Detroit Red Wings training camp this summer. He will be joined by Joe Gladnick and Jacob Fancy

Joining team captain Luke Madill on the back end will be returning players Jesse Lussier, Myles McGurty, Zack Taylor and Gareth Nicholson.  Wearing the Black and Gold for the first time will be former Moncton Wildcats captain Duncan MacIntrye and former Memorial Cup champion and assistant captain of the London Knights, Aiden Jamieson. Evan Scott rounds out the defensive end with plenty of experience from the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

Up front, the Tigers have added more size and some offensive punch with newcomers Memorial Cup champion Chandler Yakimowicz (Sudbury/London), Ryan Verbeek (Drummondville), Jonathan Cyr (Hawkesbury), Reid Murphy (Brockville) and local resident Andrew Shewfelt (Drummondvile/Halifax). Returning forwards include Andrew RiederColton Heffley, Josh Worthen, Alex Pawelcyzk, Kelly Bent, Felix Page, Tanner Williams, Jackson Playfair, Mike Evelyn and Connor Donaghey.
