Tigers fall 4-2 to UdeM

Tigers fall 4-2 to UdeM

The UdeM Aigles Bleus took down the Dalhousie Tigers 4-2 on Friday in AUS men's hockey action at the Halifax Forum. The Tigers struck first scoring in the second period but four unanswered goals by Moncton put things out of reach for the Tigers.

After a scoreless first half Dalhousie managed to get a puck by UdeM goalie, Brandon Thibeau on the powerplay. Felix Page skated through a couple Moncton players and found Phil Gadoury at the top of the circle who ripped a wrist shot to the back of the net.

The lead was short lived as UdeM countered just four minutes later on an odd man rush. Sebastien Gauthie picked up a rebound off the pads of Corbin Boes and pulled the puck to his backhand sliding it past Boes. Alex Saulnier and Allain Saulnier were credited with the assists.

At 16:57 Moncton took the lead off a goal from Alex Emond. Emond walked in from the blue line and sniped a shot top right beating Boes.

UdeM brought a 2-1 lead into the dressing room after 40 minutes of play.

Moncton kept the pressure up scoring two more goals in the third period. Alex Saulnier got his first goal and third point of the night halfway through the third on a 2-on-1 where he peppered a one-timer.

Alex Noel stretched the Moncton lead to three off a scramble in front of the Dalhousie net.

The Tigers were able to find the back of the net one more time but it was to little to late. Tyler Noseworthy scored with under a minute to play shorthanded.

Boes stopped 26 of 30 shots while Thibeau stopped 28 of 30.

After the 4-2 lose the Tigers fall to 1-4-1 while the Aigles Bleus improve to 4-1-1. The Tigers are in action tomorrow night hosting the St. Thomas Tommies while Moncton heads to StFX.
