Tigers Pick Up Another Win as They Defeat the Panthers 2-1

The Dalhousie Tigers clinched another big win tonight at the Halifax Forum defeating the UPEI Panthers 2-1. This brings the Tigers total wins to six, which is double their last season's record. Tanner Williams led the offense for the Tigers notching the first goal of the game and following up with three more shots, while Corbin Boes had another stellar game with a total of 37 saves.

Williams got one past Mavric Parks early at the 4:42 mark. Even whilst taking three penalties in the first period, the Tigers were able to hold their lead and go into the second period 1-0. With the second period ending scoreless due to big saves from both teams, the Tigers kept their 1-0 lead entering the third.

The Panthers came out hot in the final period as they out shot the Tigers 15-7. After the Tigers second goal by JP Harvey to strengthen the Tigers lead to 2-0, the Panthers continued to dig deep and attempt the comeback. Traccitto tucked one away on the power play bringing hope back for the Panthers to come away with a victory. The Panthers pulled Parks with a minute and a half left in the game as a last effort and managed to get off three solid shots, but fell short of what was needed to take the game from the Tigers.

Both teams are back on the ice tomorrow as the Panthers head to Acadia to face the Axemen and the Tigers host the Tommies back at the Forum. Both games get underway at 7:00pm.
