Tigers win 4-3 in OT over Panthers

(Halifax, NS) The Tigers won back-to-back games for the second time this season as they beat the UPEI Panthers in thrilling fashion 4-3 in the Halifax Forum. Fabian Walsh secured the two points for the Tigers scoring at 3:37 in overtime.

Brent Andrews kicked things off for the UPEI Panthers scoring off a Dalhousie turnover deep in their own end. Matthew Brenton created the turnover but Brent Andrews eventually would score on his rebound.
 

UPEI looked like they were going to run away with the game as Marcus Power one-timed a Matthew Brenton feed on a 2-on-1 three minutes later making it 2-0 Panthers.

Dalhousie proved their resilience going on to score three unanswered goals.
 

Colton Parsons was the beneficiary of some nifty passing between Tanner Williams and Fabian Walsh who set him up for his third goal of the season.

UPEI headed into the dressing with a 2-1 lead after one.
 

The second period looked like it would go goalless until Andrew Wigginton roofed a shot from the slot past UPEI goalie Mavric Parks in the final minute of the second period.

Luke Madill kept the ball rolling for the Tigers in the third scoring 43 seconds into the period. Pierre Vandall stepped out from behind the net setting up Madill with a gift to bang home.
 

Reginaldo Traccitto tied things up at 3 for UPEI on a fluky point shot that was deflected off a Tigers defensemen's stick.

The game needed overtime to separate the two sides.
 

Fabian Walsh scored the winner off a fanned shot by Myles McGurty giving the Tigers their second win in as many days.

Dalhousie (4-8) travels to St. Thomas (0-9-3) next Friday night and will look to win three straight against the Tommies.
 

UPEI (4-6-2) is on the ice next at home when they host Acadia (9-3) next Friday.
