Tigers top Tommies 3-0 at Forum

(Halifax, NS) The Dalhousie Tigers defeated the St. Thomas Tommies by a score of 3-0 in AUS men's hockey action at the Halifax Forum on Friday night. 

The Tigers opened up the scoring half way through the first period on a one-timer from the top of the circle by Fabian Walsh. Matt English assisted on the goal.

Dalhousie would take the 1-0 lead into the dressing room.

Both teams picked up the intensity in the 2nd period, which saw some highlight reel hits. The Tigers killed off three penalties in the period including a four minute stick infraction committed by Andrew Wiggintion.
 

St. Thomas outshot the Tigers 14-5 in the period but still found themselves down 1-0 after two periods of play.

Kendall MacInnis made it 2-0 Tigers three minutes into the 3rd period on an absolute beauty of a snap shot that flew over Tyson Teichmann glove.
 

JP Harvey added an empty net goal in the final seconds of the game.

Boes turned aside 32 shots in his shutout performance while his counterpart Tiechman saved 25.
 

Dalhousie (3-8) will look to build on this win as they play UPEI (4-6) Saturday night at the Forum.

St. Thomas (0-8) travels to StFX (6-5) tomorrow and will look to record their first win of the season.
