Dalhousie Tigers defeated Saint Mary's University Huskies 81-61 on Friday at the Homburg Centre.
Dalhousie took an early lead with Lydell Husbands-Brow scoring the first points at 9:45, followed by a 3-pointer from Riley Stewart at 9:22. The team maintained momentum, with Husbands-Brow contributing significantly through scoring and rebounds, including a pair of free throws at 6:25 to extend the lead to five. Despite some back-and-forth scoring, Nathaniel Titus secured an 18-17 lead for Dalhousie with a jumper assisted by Riley Stewart at 0:31, concluding the half with a narrow advantage.
The second half saw a competitive performance from our team, highlighted by Caleb Stewart's consistent scoring, including a jumper at 7:01, a layup at 2:40, and a 3-pointer at 3:37. Despite a strong effort, the team struggled with shooting accuracy, missing several attempts including free throws at 2:37. The Huskies maintained their lead with key plays from Aidan MacDonald and Micah Stewart, who contributed significantly to their team's score, including a 3-pointer from Micah at 1:41.
