In AUS men's basketball action at the Dalplex, the StFX X-Men defeated the Dalhousie Tigers 91-64 in a game where the X-Men really turned it up and gave the Tigers a tough night.

In the first quarter, both teams were pretty even to start as StFX held a 7-4 lead about four minutes in. After that, the X-Men went on a 7-0 run to take a 14-4 lead after eight minutes. The X-Men ended up taking a 19-10 lead into the second quarter.

The second quarter saw the X-Men turn up the offensive pressure. But, Dalhousie would not go away lightly, as evidenced by the second quarter score only being 18-13 with two minutes left in the half. However, the X-Men kept on rolling and led 45-25 at halftime.

As the third quarter was in progress, things became pretty even again, with the third quarter score being 8-8 after three minutes. But, the Tigers could not make a significant dent in the lead. This resulted in the score being 68-48 for the X-Men after the third quarter.

In the fourth quarter, StFX was able to swing the momentum back into their favour and extend their lead. This made the fourth quarter score 21-8 with about two minutes to go. Dalhousie couldn't answer and the X-Men got the win

Julius Antoine (Vaughan, ON) led all scorers with 20 points. Subway Player of the Game Azaro Roker (Nassau, Bahamas) chipped in nine points, 11 rebounds, and five assists for the X-Men

Xavier Ochu (Milton, ON) powered the Dalhousie offence with 17 points, while adding five boards. Sven Stammberger (Halifax, NS) contributed 15 points for the Tigers

Both teams are back in action next Friday at 8:00 pm. The X-Men face the UNB Varsity Reds in Antigonish, while the Tigers next play the Cape Breton Capers in Sydney.
