This week we are flashing back to our AUS Champion 1995-1996 men’s basketball team. In the photo we have; back row (L-R) Tim McGarigle (Head Coach) Mark Parker (Asst. Coach Tim McGarigle would lead his team to a 17-3 record in the regular season, which to date is the highest win total of any Tigers team in history for a single season. Brian Parker and Reggie Oblitey would be named first team AUS All-stars that season as the Tigers captured their first AUS Championship. Parker would also be named a CIS second team All-Canadian.
Since the 1995-96 season the Tigers have won three more AUS Championships. They will be going for number five this weekend at the Scotiabank Centre. Their first game is the AUS semi-final at 6:30pm on Saturday March 5th.
