Flash Back Friday (Nov. 20)

This week’s flash back Friday features the 1997-98 women’s volleyball team who were the AUAA Champions for that season.

As mentioned, the team was AUS Champions during this season, and Michelle Aucoin was one of the AUS first team all-stars while teammate Cara MacKenzie made the AUS second team all-stars.

Not only did Cara MacKenzie make the second team all-stars, but she also received the Erin Bursey Memorial Award which is given to the women’s volleyball student-athlete who displays outstanding achievement in three areas: volleyball, academics, and community involvement.

Moreover, Cara MacKenzie was one of the AUS First team all-stars during the 1996-97 season along with teammate Jennifer Parkes. Jennifer was named as a first team all-star in 1996-97, but was also awarded the AUS most valuable player in the 1997-98 season.

This weekend, from November 20-22, 2015, the women’s volleyball team will be competing in the AUS-RSEQ women’s volleyball interlock. Dalhousie will be hosting the tournament at the Dalplex. Visiting teams include Acadia, Montreal, McGill, UQAM, Laval, and Sherbrooke. Saint Mary’s will also be hosting games on their home court. For full tournament schedule details, please visit this link.
