This week we are flashing back to the 1999-2000 women’s basketball team. The team consisted of: (Front row L to R) Kerry Maier, Angelia Crealock, Fausta Charlong, Julia Burden, Libby McNamara, Janet Wells (Back row L to R): Jim Charters (Assistant coach), Carolyn Savoy (Head Coach), Rita Rieksts, Sonya Young, Jillian MacDonald, Logan Dunning, Janice King, Danielle Rumbolt, Joe Wells (Assistant Coach), J.C. Gallant (Trainer) John Badcock (Manager).

The team had an amazing season, finishing 18-2 and clinching first place in the Baldwin division. The Tigers had two players named AUS first team all stars; Angelia Crealock and Janice King. Crealock was also named the AUS most valuable player. She is currently ranked 17th in AUS history in points scored in a career and third all-time in Tigers history with 1,323 points in 100 games played.

 Janet Wells won the CIS Tracy Macleod Award for perseverance, determination and unwavering spirit. She is the first and only Tiger to be honored with that award.

The 2015-16 women’s basketball team is back in the court on Saturday January 30th at the Scotiabank Centre vs. Acadia for the Varsity Showdown.
