This week’s flashback Friday features our national champion 2004 women’s cross country team. In the photo (Front row L-R): Pam Yarr (Asst. The women would claim both the AUS and CIS titles that season. Becoming the first and only Dalhousie women’s cross country team to win a National Championship. Janice Ashworth took home the silver medal at nationals to complement her silver medal from 2003. She would earn another CIS silver medal in 2005.

Janice Ashworth, Hilary Burn, Karen Forward, Leanna MacLean and Sophie Williams were all named AUS all stars and Ashworth, Burn and MacLean were later named 1st team CIS all Canadians. Ashworth was also named AUS Athlete of the Year and Head Coach Dan Hennigar was named AUS Coach of the Year for the second time in as many seasons. He would also earn Coach of the Year honors from the CIS.
