Tigers off to AUS Championships

Tigers off to AUS Championships

The Tigers cross country teams are getting ready this week for the 2013 Subway AUS Championships, which are being hosted by the University of Moncton on October 26.

Both teams will look to build on their success from previous meets this year.

On the men's side, the Tigers have placed second at three AUS meets this year, behind StFX each time. Third-year Matt McNeil will lead the way for the Tigers, placing second in two meets this year.

Oliver Hatheway, who placed in the top ten in both of his races this year, will look to be a dominating force yet again for the Tigers.

The women's team swept the three AUS meets in convincing fashion this year and will look to do the same at the conference championships. The trio of Ellen Chappell, Anna von Maltzahn and Natalie Sachrajda will try to lead their team to victory after placing second last year.

Chappell has a second- and third-place finish this year, and von Maltzahn was right behind her each time, placing third and fourth. Sachrajda has placed second and fifth in her two races.

The women will kick things off on Saturday at noon and the men will race at 12:45pm.

Good luck Tigers!
