Men's Cross Country Cracks Top 10

Congratulations to the men's cross country team who are ranked 9th in the U SPORTS Top 10 released October 3rd. The complete release from U SPORTS follows:

TORONTO (U SPORTS) – The Montreal Carabins are the new team to beat in
U SPORTS men’s soccer.

After starting the season unranked, the Carabins (7-0-0) reached the top of the national rankings for the first time since Oct.20, 2009, standing as the final team in the country with a perfect record.

Continuing their high-scoring efforts over the weekend, Montreal beat UQTR 8-1 last Thursday, before following it up with a 1-0 win against UQAM on Sunday. Having only allowed four goals while scoring 26, Montreal owns the largest goal differential (+22) in their conference and the second largest in U SPORTS men’s soccer to Carleton.

Alberta (7-1-2) dropped to second in the rankings for the first time this season after a scoreless draw with unranked Saskatchewan.

This weekend, the Carabins will host Sherbrooke on Friday and visit Concordia Sunday.

In other U SPORTS rankings, Laval (men’s cross country and women’s soccer) StFX (women’s rugby), and Queen’s (women’s cross country) all remain national leaders for another week.

Note: Top 10 rankings for men’s and women’s hockey will begin next Tuesday, Oct. 10.
