U Sports Top 10 February 7

U Sports Top 10 February 7

TORONTO (U SPORTS) – A week after claiming their first No.1 spot in 14 years, the Manitoba Bisons remain the team to beat in U SPORTS men’s volleyball, while the Guelph Gryphons continue to sweep the track and field polls, as all 12 national leaders remain on top of the national rankings.

In swimming and wrestling, the UBC Thunderbirds and Brock Badgers retain the lead position in both the men’s and women’s polls, with conference championships on tap this weekend. Toronto (OUA), UPEI (AUS) and Laval (RSEQ) will host swimming championships, while McMaster (OUA) and Saskatchewan (Canada West), welcome the best wrestlers in their respective conferences. The Canada West Swimming Championship took place in November.

In other U SPORTS rankings, Carleton (men’s basketball), Laval (women’s basketball), UNB (men’s hockey), UBC (women’s hockey), and Alberta (women’s volleyball) hold on to their pole positions for another week.
