This week’s flashback Friday goes to the 2009-10 women’s hockey team. FRONT ROW (L-R): Alyscia Zaryski, Robin Mullen, Mike Chapman (Asst. Coach), Jocelyn LeBlanc, Sean Fraser (Asst. The 2009-10 women’s hockey team wrapped up a rollercoaster season finishing with a record of 11-13. The Tigers would go on to qualify for the AUS playoffs with the fifth seed. In the playoffs Dalhousie would fall to the StFX X-Women in the first round. Three Tigers would finish their careers after the playoff game, including Kaitlyn McNutt, Katya Sodamin, and Emelie Ederfors.

There were several individual victories to celebrate in the 2009-10 season as the Tigers had a record nine Academic All-Canadians. On the Ice, Tigers assistant Captain Jocelyn LeBlanc was named an AUS First Team All-Star and team Captain Laura Shearer earned AUS Second Team All-Star status. First year phenom Fielding Montgomery was named to the AUS All-Rookie team and at the CIS Championship Kaitlyn McNutt was awarded the Marion Hillard Award, which recognizes excellence in athletics, academic, and community involvement.

The 2016-17 women’s hockey team has their final home game of the year Sunday, February 5 at the Halifax Civic Arena. Puck drop is at 6:00pm.
